FAQ
Common Questions
Have a question that isn't answered here? Feel free to reach out and I'll be happy to help.
Where is the studio located?
YaYa Studio is located in beautiful Colorado Springs, CO.
Why is it called YaYa Studio?
My mom's nickname growing up was YaYa so the studio is paying tribute to her.
What genres do you specialize in?
YaYa Studio specializes in hardcore, punk, metal, indie, and experimental music. While those genres are our focus, artists of all styles are welcome.
Can you record a full band live?
Unfortunately, currently the studio doesn't have the capability to record a full band live. Maybe someday soon!
How do I book a session?
Fill out the booking form on the website or email yayastudios@protonmail.com. Include information about your band, project, desired dates, budget you have in mind plus contact information.
If alternate mixes, such as stems, vocal up, instrumentals, etc, are required, please state that at the time of booking so that extra mixing time can be booked for that purpose.
What are your rates?
Every project is different. Pricing depends on the scope of the project, number of songs, and services requested. I'm pretty flexible on my rates if it's a project I want to work on. Contact me for a custom quote.
Estimate of average rates:
Studio: $150 per day = 6 hours (engineer is included in day rate)
Mixing: $25 per hour
Setup (if applicable): $15 per hour
How do I pay?
Deposit: A non-refundable deposit of 50% is required to confirm dates.
It is important to note that deposits are connected to specific dates, not projects – postponing means you will likely lose your deposit.
If you need to cancel, please do so within 48 hours or deposit will not be refunded.
Purchasing of consumable supplies such as hard drives, drum heads, guitar strings, etc. is the client’s responsibility. Archival of recordings is the responsibility of the client, not YaYa Studio.
We accept cash, check, Zelle, PayPal, and Venmo.

Can I bring my own gear?
You're absolutely welcome to bring any instruments, amplifiers, pedals, or equipment that are important to your sound. If non-studio gear is determined not suitable for recording, a separate setup fee may be added to day rate if non-studio gear is used. Musical equipment at the studio is available for clients to use at no additional cost.
Can you mix recordings from another studio?
Absolutely! If your tracks were recorded elsewhere, mixing services are available as long as properly organized multitrack files are provided. Please refer here Mix Specs for proper delivery.
Do I need an appointment to visit?
Yes please, this is a home studio and sessions may be in progress. Please e-mail to schedule a visit.
What are the studio hours?
As this is a home studio and I have another full time job, studio hours vary from project to project. Weekends are preferable, but hours are flexible, please contact for availability.
Do you offer staying accommodations?
Currently I do not as my studio is in my house. If staying accommodations are needed, I can definitely give recommendations!
What services are offered in the studio?
Recording/Engineering, Mixing and Production.
Mastering is not offered at this time.
